In the lead-up to the World Cup , South Africa became infected with “soccer fever”. It was only natural that we should hear from iconic comedian Leon Schuster and his army of funny-bone tickling bandits. SCHUKS TSHABALALA’S SURVIVAL GUIDE TO SOUTH AFRICA 2010 is a combination of dramatic narrative and traditional candid camera gags unleashed on a new group of unsuspecting Schuster victims. Leon is incarnated as Schuks Tshabalala. Shot largely on location in Cape Town and surrounds, Leon plays both himself and an array of characters supported by his trusty sidekick “Shorty” (Alfred Ntombela). As part of a fictional tourism campaign, the two friends are tasked with assisting tourists in planning their visits to South Africa. The story is littered with all mishaps and belly laughs – what fans have come to expect from Leon Schuster over the last three decades. In SCHUKS TSHABALALA’S SURVIVAL GUIDE TO SOUTH AFRICA 2010 nothing is sacred. Common international misconceptions like lions and elephants walking the streets of Johannesburg given the Schuster treatment keeping unsuspecting South Africans on their toes. SCHUKS 2010 also features Bollywood-inspired musical numbers where Schuks pokes fun at some of the country’s most powerful and influential personalities.
